The Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland was recently featured in the news for its Winter Crisis Program that began earlier this month. The program helps income-eligible Greater Cleveland residents who have been threatened with disconnection, maintain their utility services. This is a one-time benefit and is to be used in emergency situations.
WEWS Channel 5 News spoke with Paul Billups, CEOGC’s HEAP Manager, about the program and its importance to the residents of Cuyahoga County.
“The programs we offer here are very important for the county,” said Billups. “a lot of customers have been without utilities over the summer months, so it’s important for us to get them reconnected for the winter.”
