Living Independently For Tomorrow (L.I.F.T.)
CEOGC’s Living Independently For Tomorrow (L.I.F.T.) program is a homelessness prevention program specifically targeting vulnerable youth transitioning to independence from the foster care system. L.I.F.T. will utilize a combination of direct financial assistance and the provision of supportive services to help youth transitioning from foster care obtain employment and decent, safe, and affordable housing. The range of services proposed to be provided by the L.I.F.T. program are specifically designed to prevent youth transitioning from foster care from becoming homeless.
Currently, the program is in the planning stage. Program planning activities are being funded through a generous, $10,000 Planning Grant awarded by the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland in December 2007. The L.I.F.T. program directly addresses the Sisters of Charity Foundation’s strategic objective focused on “Preventing Homelessness for Vulnerable Families and Youth in Cleveland.”
