Students at the Council for Economic Opportunities’ Buckeye Head Start Center had a visitor from Playhouse Square on Tuesday morning, who lead an interactive story.
Robin Pease shared the story about a frog who wanted sparkly skin, but got himself into trouble because he didn’t listen to instructions.
The students took part in the story by singing, acting out different actions and speaking in different languages! The students learned how to say “hello” in Swahili, and how to say “once upon a time” in another African language.
Robin also brought friends along for the story. She had a stuffed tiger and some traditional African instruments to help bring the story to life.
The students laughed and reacted throughout the whole story; they were on the edge of their seats! Robin brought this story to the rest of the Council’s Head Start centers, too. We are so grateful for her!
