CEOGC News: CEOGC to Host Information Sharing Meeting with Dr. Alvin Jackson

State Representative Barbara Boyd (D-Cleveland Heights) in conjunction with Ohio’s Department of Health will be hosting an information sharing meeting with special guest, Dr. Alvin Jackson, Director of Ohio’s Department of Health. Dr. Alvin D. Jackson has a long history of providing health care to Ohioans. “Ohio’s doctor,” as he is known, became director of the Ohio Department of Health—or ODH—June 2007, following his appointment by Gov. Ted Strickland. Before that, Dr. Jackson served as medical director of Community Health Services in Fremont, Ohio. In that role, he provided primary medical care to rural residents and to migrant workers in the fields. Dr. Jackson also has served as chief of staff of Fremont Memorial Hospital and as a staff physician at the Sandusky County Health Department. This meeting will serve to share pertinent information about health disparities affecting the area and issues specific to the current concerns of H1N1 and of health disparities in the Greater Cleveland area. Please join us in this information sharing opportunity. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. on December 10th at the CEOGC Head Start Center located at 14206 Euclid Avenue in East Cleveland. This meeting is open to the public.
