CEOGC News: CEOGC Head Start Hoops It Up

Over 130 people attended the CEOGC Head Start Hoop It Up! event in East Cleveland on April 23rd. The event was designed to encourage fathers to participate in the lives of their young children through learning activities. Over 90 fathers attended at played basketball with their children in the large muscle room, went one-on-one with them at XBox and watched them have their faces painted.
A classroom was also transformed into a movie theater for a screening of the Lebron James documentary "More Than a Game" and CEOGC Head Start teacher Easter Madry dressed up as a clown.
Door and raffle prizes were provided by Target, Wal-Mart, Touchstone Management, New Concepts Insurance, the East Cleveland Police Department, Cleveland Fire Department and CEOGC staff.
Community volunteers from Phi Beta Sigma and Nu Phi Psi fraternities, the East Cleveland Police Department and Aaron's Rental participated in the event.
