Mark C. Batson

Chief Operating/Chief Information Officer

Mark C. Batson oversees Information Technology, Facilities and Transportation for the Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland. His core focus is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations in order to better serve the Council’s client base. Mark has more than 20 years of experience in change management, IT, strategic planning and government regulations. Mark has managed organizations in the private industry, nonprofit and government sectors.

Mark has worked with ambulatory healthcare networks across the country in the areas of Financial Management, Management of Information Systems, Revenue Cycle Management and Quality Improvement. The primary focus of Mr. Batson’s work was to provide consulting services to support, financial management, health IT software implementations and community efforts to adopt the Affordable Care Act.

Mark has a record of turning around healthcare organizations in challenging circumstances and implementing IT software systems in diverse types of business operations. Past assignments include positions as CEO of Morehouse Healthcare in Atlanta, GA., Chief of Staff of the Ohio Department of Health in Columbus, OH and CEO of Axess Point Community Health in Akron, OH. He is also a Co-Founder of the public policy think tank PolicyBridge, Inc.

He holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University and a B.A. in Business Administration from Kent State University. Mark volunteers on various boards and committees focused primarily on healthcare, information technology, and business economic development including the National Health Information Technology Collaborative for the Underserved the Garrett Square Economic Development Corporation and Growth Capital Corp.
