Chief Financial Officer
Deborah Armstrong is the Chief Financial Officer at the Council for Economic Opportunities. She is responsible for assessing and evaluating the financial performance of the organization.
She has a long history working with nonprofit organizations. Before starting at the Council, Armstrong worked for Mobile Meals, Inc. as a Controller and within six months was promoted to VP of Finance. There, she was responsible for the overall financial management of the agency. She oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Finance department, as well as managed compliance, HR duties and Information Technology.
Prior to joining Mobile Meals, Inc., Armstrong worked as the Finance Director for the Akron Urban League. She also worked in the local government sector and the banking industry. In addition, she spent four years as a financial consultant, primarily advising non-profit organizations and other small businesses.
Armstrong received her M.B.A. in Management from Baldwin-Wallace College, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Cleveland State University.
