UPDATED 04/21/2020: The Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland (CEOGC) is extending its change in operations, including the closure of its Head Start centers and its limited hours at the HEAP office and Neighborhood Opportunity Centers.

Following the guidance of the Ohio Governor’s office, the operational changes will now last until May 31st. Head Start Centers will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic school year. If you are in need of childcare during this time, click here to see a list of centers that are operating with the required pandemic license.

In addition to closing its Head Start centers, CEOGC has canceled all scheduled workshops and classes through its Community Services. Its NOCs and HEAP office will remain staffed, but will not take face-to-face meetings. Instead, clients will be assisted by phone. For contact information for each of our Neighborhood Opportunity Centers, please click here.

Neighborhood Opportunity Center and HEAP office hours have temporarily changed. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Residents with scheduled appointments have been contacted to move those appointments to phone, or reschedule for another time.

During the closure, CEOGC is encouraging parents to continue to engage their child or children in educational activities. Age-appropriate videos and suggestions on how to do that will be posted twice a week here on the agency’s website. Click here for some FREE educational resources.

If you need food during this closure, CMSD is offering free lunches for children 18 and younger. Click here for a list of CMSD locations where food is available.

This is a situation that is evolving rapidly. CEOGC is monitoring it on a day-by-day basis.
